JOB TITLE: Computer Programmer II
LOCATION: Dover, NH
SUPPORTING: Submarine Maintenance Engineering Planning & Procurement (SUBMEPP)
JOB CATEGORY: Full-Time Service Contract Act (SCA)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
WORK MODEL: Patrona Corporation prioritizes the benefits of flexibility and collaboration, whether that happens in person or remotely. This is an onsite position, and you will work in-person from a Patrona or customer site.
COMPENSATION: This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position, and the hourly rate and health & welfare benefit is based on the applicable Wage Determination.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School or GED equivalent Technical School diploma.
- Minimum two (2) years of building, maintaining, and administrating relational databases.
- Strong knowledge of and/or experience with implementing database normalization principles.
- Minimum two (2) years of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming experience, with a focus on maintaining legacy codebases. Note: this is not VB.NET.
- Experience with writing performant Structured Query Language (SQL) statements/queries in an environment that requires as much optimization as possible.
- Experience with Microsoft Access databases that are split into separate frontends and backends.
- Experience with Microsoft Access and Excel for design and editing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance and optimizations on existing Microsoft Access databases.
- Apply programming best practices alongside data integrity principles to provide and maintain an accurate and complete view of office deliverables.
- Perform code tests and reviews to ensure high quality code is written.
- Perform objective and milestone reviews with management to ensure their needs are being met.
- Perform as-needed meetings with managers to gain insight into their processes and provide more efficient solutions.
- Write documentation of existing code features and processes.
- Debug any errors that arise during use of in-house software.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Any knowledge of GitHub, C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server/SQLite is a bonus.
- Front End Development experience is a plus.
