About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper II Full Time to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficiently clean and disinfect patient rooms, common areas, and other hospital spaces, adhering to strict infection control guidelines and protocols.
- Participate in departmental functions, including general cleaning, linen room duties, waste and soiled linen removal, and project functions as assigned by department management.
- Demonstrate competence in handling regulated medical waste, hazardous waste, chemo waste, soiled linen, and general waste, adhering to standards on an ongoing basis.
- Proficiently perform clean linen distribution, ordering, and record-keeping within department tracking methods, anticipating hospital linen needs and faxing daily orders in a timely and consistent manner.
- Maintain EVS closets, carts, supplies, and equipment used in performance of assigned tasks in a neat, clean, and organized manner, per department protocols.
- Report unsafe, damaged, or broken equipment or surroundings to Plant Operations.
- Demonstrate competence in strict Infection Control Guidelines and Standards as it pertains to hospital-defined sterile areas, cleaning and disinfecting sterile areas, including but not limited to the bed, around the bed, tables, equipment, work table, rolling equipment, walls, and ceiling, and emptying all waste in the room.
- Proficiently perform special projects, including use and care of EVS floor care equipment, extracting, spotting, buffing, burnishing, stripping, and refinishing floors as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent or 1 year housekeeping-related experience.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and comprehend English.
- Proficient in basic computer knowledge, able to effectively access all programs needed for the job.
