Job Title: Automation Systems Commissioning Manager Department: Automation

Job Summary:

As an Automation Systems Commissioning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of automation solutions across various industries. You will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning process from start to finish, ensuring that automated systems are installed, configured, and tested to meet specific project requirements and standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, and budgets for automation projects.
    • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and clients, to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
  • System Integration:
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate systems with existing infrastructure, machinery, and software systems.
    • Ensure seamless interoperability and communication between automation components and other equipment or systems.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Conduct thorough testing and validation procedures to verify the functionality, performance, and safety of automation systems.
    • Develop and execute test protocols to assess various aspects of system operation, including accuracy, speed, reliability, and compliance with specifications.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
    • Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges encountered during the commissioning process, employing troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving skills.
    • Work closely with engineering and technical teams to implement solutions and optimize system performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of commissioning activities, including test results, configuration settings, and operational procedures.
    • Generate comprehensive commissioning reports and documentation packages for internal records and client deliverables.
  • Training and Support:
    • Provide training and support to operators and maintenance personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
    • Develop training materials and conduct hands-on training sessions to ensure users are proficient in utilizing technology effectively.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that commissioned automation systems meet customer requirements and expectations.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices throughout the commissioning process.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Office suite; includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.
  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in robotics, automation, control systems, and related technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute complex projects effectively.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols governing automation systems.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends, with a continuous learning mindset.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, robotics, automation, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in commissioning and integrating robotic automation systems, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • 25% travel as required.
  • Exposure to high level of noise.
