The Product Engineer supports new customer development and product design projects, facilitating new products with existing and prospective customers. They work with the Product Engineering Team and cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept to production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical product guidance and support during pre-sales discussions with current and prospective customers, assisting in developing technical proposals and answering detailed product questions.
  • Build and maintain partnering relationships with customers to drive penetration of company offerings, maintaining frequent contact with decision-makers and understanding their business needs.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and possess management skills to oversee project execution.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships, positioning the company as the preferred supplier of wire and cable products, and ensuring customer retention through excellent service and support.
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff to ensure customer satisfaction and develop relationships to deliver quality results.
  • Advocate for customers within the company to ensure they receive the best value from our offerings.
  • Manage raw material quotes and orders for new products, and develop and submit timely and competitive quotations.
  • Attend customer meetings (in person or via video conference) to advise on technical aspects of products and provide technical documentation such as drawings, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Oversee and meet all internal deadlines and customer due dates on assigned projects (project management).
  • Serve as a feedback channel for customers to communicate with company staff and keep management informed of progress and account status.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of marketing materials and media.
  • Attend and present at trade shows, managing leads and engaging potential customers during and after the show.
