Job Summary: The Senior Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis processes to support strategic decision-making and drive financial performance. This role involves developing and managing financial models, conducting detailed analysis, and providing insights and recommendations to enhance the organization's financial planning and budgeting efforts. The Senior Financial Planning Analyst plays a key role in aligning financial strategies with business objectives and ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of financial forecasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial planning and budgeting process, including developing financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze financial information, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, presentations, and variance analyses for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain financial planning tools and systems to support forecasting and budgeting activities.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on financial analysis, market trends, and business performance.
  • Support the development of long-term financial plans and strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Assist in the preparation of board reports, financial presentations, and strategic planning documents.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Finance) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
  • Experience with financial planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is preferred.
