As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial records, supporting financial reporting, and assisting with various accounting tasks specific to our distribution operations.


Job Purpose

Supports Warehouse Accounting Manager by performing general staff accountant duties including preparation and maintenance of financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.


Duties and Responsibilities/Payroll


  • Reconciliations including but not limited to bank, prepaid accounts, and suspense accounts
  • Assist with monthly closing processes
  • Prepares journal entries
  • Manages and reconciles A/R
  • Processes customer payments
  • Communicates with customers to request and arrange for payments on accounts
  • Research outstanding invoices and resolves discrepancies in payments
  • Manages and reconciles A/R
  • Files Taxes including but not limited to sales, tobacco, and property
  • Maintains fixed assets
  • Assists with inventory control
  • Provide support for audits
  • Maintain and update records for vendor and customer files
  • Prepare reporting for financial analysis
  • Provide support and back up for customer service
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Education Requirements

  • Associate Degree or more advanced education preferred
  • 3 or more years' accounting experience required
  • Must have strong mathematical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet programs, Word, and Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent problem solving with strong communication skills
  • Analytical skills
