Summary/Objective
Shaw Systems is a national software development company that has an established record of solid financial performance and an excellent reputation for providing quality products. The Release Coordinator will work alongside the Release Manager to train, learn, and understand the Shaw Systems Release Management process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an extreme attention to detail, possess a solid business acumen specifically in written and verbal -communications, and understand the fundamentals of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Release Manager to coordinate, schedule and track all elements of key changes of Shaw products
    as software releases move through development processes into production.
  • Track customizations, components and enhancements across all products and versions.
  • Track testing and documentation for each release.
  • Responsible for the release management aspects of several concurrent software versions.
  • Facilitates release planning meetings with key stakeholders to identify proper sequencing of release packages.
  • Ensures that issues and risks are identified, understood, and dealt with in a manner that mitigates risk to scope and schedule.
  • Identifies opportunities to make tactical improvements to the release management process and executes these improvements under minimal supervision from the Release Manager.
  • Package, deliver and send out release notifications to internal interfaces in operational support.
  • Monitor release deployments including tracking and providing feedback from operations and client support.
  • Partner with Release Manager to plan small- and large-scale maintenance releases.
  • Coordinate and confirm readiness of development operations (DevOps) environments for each release.
  • Supporting efforts in conjunction with the Release Manager for sprint planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

• 0-2+ years of related experience, ideally in business process management or software release management support roles.
• Fundamental understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile Methodologies, and IT Project Management.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends on an as needed basis.
• Extreme attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
• Ability to be assertive and handle divergent situations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited four-year institution.


Location
This position may work from any of the following locations: Hybrid office schedule if within 75 miles of the Houston, TX or Richmond, VA office. Remote with the ability to travel at least 5% from the following states: Texas if more than 75 miles from the office location, Virginia if more than 75 miles from the office location, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan,
New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah.

written permission from their direct manager and approval from the Information Security Office. **


Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. The daily schedule may vary from 7 am – 4 pm, 8 am – 5 pm or 9 am – 6 pm, and occasional afterhours or weekend work may be required. Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.


Travel
Limited travel (up to 5%) is expected for this position.
