Job Overview:
As Director of Estimating, you will spearhead our estimating operations to build a truly best-in-class estimating department. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that we win enough profitable work to meet our company goals; while fostering strong trade and client relationships.

What You'll Do:
  • Be responsible for the preparation of complete and accurate budgets, estimates, bids and GMPs from napkin sketches to full construction documents.
  • Utilize your expertise in construction methodology and pricing to provide constructability and value engineering recommendations that create value for our clients.
  • Identify, develop and help close new project opportunities. Work closely with the marketing and business development team to build our project pipeline, prepare proposals and client presentations.
  • Work closely with the construction operations team to develop project schedules, logistics plans, etc. and ensure the smooth turn-over of projects to the construction team.
  • Mentor, recruit and hire members of the Estimating team as needed; and manage to create a cohesive and motivated team.
  • Develop estimating processes and procedures that ensure consistency and scalability. Develop and track departmental KPIs.

Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in successfully estimating complex construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong team-building, quantitative, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional time-management and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction principles, processes, practices, and pricing.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (ProEst, BuildingConnected, Excel, etc.).
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction estimating.
