We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team committed to delivering outstanding service to employees.. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play an important roles as the first point of contact for payroll related issues and is responsible for performing end-to-end payroll functions and related tasks for all Buckner corporations, including processing disbursement of payroll. What you'll do:

  • Manage the processing of bi-weekly and monthly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Batch and input team member pay data each pay period that is not received via workflows in ADP Vantage for all corporations as needed. Ensure team member time is accurately collected and recorded through use of the approved systems.
  • Compile, balance, and ensure compliance requirements are met for additional earnings, submissions, time corrections, and rate overrides submitted from field HR.
  • Audit all changes entered by Field HR personnel for accuracy and compliance with Federal, State and Local laws as well as Buckner International
  • Process checks and vouchers each pay period for Buckner corporations; sort and distribute payroll check registers/checks to facilities each pay period.
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports as needed.
  • Prepare and balance bi-weekly and monthly payrolls prior to submission to the HRIS/Payroll Manager for final audit.
  • Communicate actively with Operations, HR, accounting, and executive management to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Process Payroll Journal Entries out of ADP after each
  • Serve as a lead for the payroll team. Handle departmental inquiries in the absence of the HRIS/Payroll Manager.

What you'll bring:

  • In-depth understanding of business principles related to payroll laws and regulatory requirements including ability to define problems, draw conclusions and make decisions dealing with abstract variables. Associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 15 years of related payroll administration experience, including multi-state and multi-entity payroll process for at least 500 team members.
  • Must possess current working knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and maintain current on laws in the states where each entity operates.
  • Requires proficient working knowledge and ability to manage automated payroll processing systems, including the ability to run reports and other documentation.
  • Requires proficient ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Requires proficient working knowledge of budgetary management and development of policies and procedures.
  • Requires strong attention to detail.
