About the Opportunity:

FedTec is looking to hire a skilled and experienced Security Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Security Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify security risks, develop robust security solutions, and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our systems and data.

Job Title: Security Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Reston, VA

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure components such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks and weaknesses in the infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security controls into infrastructure design and implementation projects.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on security-related matters and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing security infrastructure in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint security, etc.
  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (e.g., NISA 800-172, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Good to have exoerience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
