Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and resilient cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure: Design and implement scalable and resilient cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services.
  • Develop and Maintain Automation Scripts: Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts to provision and manage AWS resources.
  • Enable Configuration Management: Enable configuration management, ensuring consistent and secure deployments across various environments.
  • Automate Deployment and Scaling: Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containers.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Monitor and Optimize Resources: Continuously improve and optimize cloud infrastructure and configuration management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
  • Implement Monitoring and Logging Solutions: Implement proactive monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health and security compliance.
  • Provide Notification and Communication: Provide immediate notification and detailed communication in the event of system-wide outages or performance issues.

Security and Compliance:

  • Maintain Security Posture: Leverage knowledge of NIST standards to maintain the APS security posture.
  • Conduct Security Scans: Conduct regular security scans as part of the build processes.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement innovative approaches throughout the SDLC.
  • Conduct Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing and regression testing after major releases to ensure system stability.
  • Utilize DevSecOps Processes: Utilize DevSecOps processes to enhance speed, agility, and reduce risks.
  • Perform Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of proposed innovations to evaluate their benefits and feasibility.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8 years of Cloud Engineering experience.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of AWS core services, experience with automation tools, proficiency in scripting languages, solid understanding of networking protocols and security best practices, knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, and professional certification(s) in AWS.
