The EDI Technical Lead will be responsible for vendor management, providing technical leadership, and guiding critical activities to achieve business objectives related to EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and GENTRAN (mainframe translator). This role involves working with various stakeholders to manage project-related software and hardware, define technology strategies, and ensure the successful development and implementation of EDI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management:

    • Manage the lifecycle of all project-related software and hardware, including vendor meetings and interactions.
    • Coordinate with vendors for technical support, software updates, and hardware management.

  • Technical Leadership:

    • Provide technical direction and strategic guidance for critical EDI activities to meet business objectives.
    • Define the current and future state of technology, including all applicable integrations.
    • Collaborate with architects and technical professionals for environment setup, configuration, and development.
    • Analyze future project ideas and assess their business value.

  • Implications Communication:

    • Anticipate, understand, and communicate the impact of technical decisions on business processes, applications, and project timelines.
    • Influence decisions to align technical solutions with business needs.

  • Business Requirements Collaboration:

    • Work with Business Consultants to confirm critical business requirements and manage expectations with business partners.
    • Contribute to the analysis of future project ideas and evaluate their business value.

  • Development and Guidance:

    • Provide guidance and oversight for GENTRAN development and review, including user exits and COBOL development.
    • Perform EDI application and transaction set analysis, definition, mapping, and ensure compliance.

  • Testing and Documentation:

    • Oversee all aspects of testing from development to implementation for EDI solutions.
    • Utilize documentation tools for the creation and publication of EDI Implementation Guides.

  • Support for PowerSuite/CoreSuite:

    • Support Workers Compensation files through GENTRAN, including EDI format development, modification, and testing.

Required Skills:

  • GENTRAN Mainframe Translator Experience: 5 years

    • Experience in GENTRAN mainframe translator, including user exits (COBOL development).

  • EDI Healthcare Transaction Sets: 5 years

    • Experience with EDI Healthcare-related HL (Hierarchical Level) transaction sets, such as the 148 FROI.

  • EDI Application and Transaction Set Analysis: 5 years

    • Experience in EDI application and transaction set analysis, definition, mapping, and compliance.

  • Testing and Documentation: 5 years

    • Extensive experience in all aspects of EDI testing from development to implementation.
    • Experience utilizing documentation tools for EDI Implementation Guides.

  • Support for PowerSuite/CoreSuite: 2 years

    • Experience in supporting PowerSuite/CoreSuite for Workers Compensation files through GENTRAN, including EDI format development, modification, and testing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and technical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with vendors, business consultants, and technical teams.
