Why our Marketing and Communications Specialist is Important:

Our Marketing team is an ambassador for the HEMIC Family of Companies’ brand, products, and services. It liaises relationships between our internal operations, agents and insureds. This role participates in planning, development, and execution of these responsibilities by communicating key messages and details via digital and print communications, special events, policyholder initiatives, and more.

Essential Duties

Communications

  • Develop sales toolkit materials, email marketing, newsletters, press releases, award submissions, web and other content. Coordinate reviews & approvals.
  • Design and provide design support for internal & external marketing materials.
  • Manage logo item vendors.

Website, Social Media & Digital Presence:

  • Draft digital content, coordinate reviews & revisions, post and manage content.
  • Propose and execute improvements to website.
  • Stay abreast of best practices.
  • Keep HEMIC “Top of Search.”

Agency & Marketing Relations:

  • Collaborate with Marketing Director to deliver on marketing initiatives with agency partners: email communications, digital & collateral materials, events.
  • Manage and develop the marketing database; maintain & organize contact information.
  • Assist with agency reports & metrics.

Additional Support:

  • Provide support to executives & departments across the HEMIC Family of Companies.
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador of HEMIC, internally & externally.
  • Assist in the company goals and aspirations in order to meet objectives, live the values and culture of HEMIC, and practice company policies.

Requirements

  • Strong, effective writing and speaking skills. Experience with presentations and presenting to groups a plus.
  • High degree of commitment, self-motivation, flexibility and common sense.
  • A hunger to learn and an ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Able to take direction and highly productive with minimal supervision.
  • High-energy, collaborative people person.
  • Well-organized, able to multitask and prioritize effectively, with the ability to self-manage work and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to high-quality work.
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Insurance or related field, or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, advertising, or public relations.
  • Strong PC skills: MS Office, Content and Contact Management Systems; Adobe Creative Suite (or similar), comfortable with a paperless environment.
  • Experience in the following areas is a plus:
    1. Press Releases, local news media, internet advertising
    2. Website content management systems and Google Analytics
    3. Social Media content, planning and platforms
    4. Email Marketing platforms
    5. Design, Photography, Videography
    6. Event planning and coordination
