At Veterinary Dental Specialties – San Diego, we pride ourselves on providing compassionate, concierge level service to our clients, patients, and primary care veterinarians. We take our responsibility to alleviate pain and suffering seriously and accomplish this with Fear Free techniques to reduce the stress on everyone involved. We believe in taking care of our staff so they can take care of our patients. We work on one patient at a time to give each patient the undivided attention they deserve.
Technical abilities and skills:
- The ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment and to communicate to build relationships with colleagues and clients is required.
- The ability to deliver exceptional client and patient services.
- Knowledge of Fear Free techniques, and Fear Free certification is preferred. Access to certification will be provided if not already possessed.
- Knowledge of common medications, and filling medications
- Dental radiography and cone-beam CT (VetCat IQ) experience. If not possessed, training will be provided.
- Instrument and equipment sterilization and maintenance.
- Experience with CubeX is advantageous.
- Help perform IV catheters, blood draws.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis.
- Clean and maintain medical equipment and instruments
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery.
- Clean kennels and laundry.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Two or more years of experience in the veterinary field performing the above duties. (Required)
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
