Wine Sales Representative for Importer/Distributor

Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Representative to join our team and represent our diverse portfolio of over 700 wines from around the world. As a Wine Representative for an Importer/ Distributor, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and/or Maryland. We have openings for Annapolis area all the way to Baltimore with an already established portfolio of clients. Your primary goal will be to promote and sell our unique selection of wines.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share in the designated territory.
Build and maintain strong relationships with restaurants, bars, hotels, retail stores, and other potential clients.
Conduct product tastings, presentations to promote our wines and educate clients about our producers' stories.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new sales opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to expand your professional network and represent our company in the wine community.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in wine sales with an importer, distributor, or winery supplier is required.
Deep understanding of the hospitality industry, including knowledge of wine lists, menus, and purchasing processes.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building client relationships.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be 21 years old or older and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Access to a personal vehicle for transportation within the designated territory.
Flexible schedule with the ability to work occasional weekends and attend evening events as needed.
Compensation:
This position offers a competitive commission-based salary with a guaranteed base salary to start, along with performance-based bonuses. The earning potential is uncapped, allowing you to maximize your income based on your sales performance and dedication to the role.
