As the leader of their market, the Market President manages a team of Commercial Relationship Managers (RMs), Treasury Management Reps (TMs), Private Bankers, Business Bankers, Portfolio Managers, and, in certain markets, Commercial Market Managers. The role is one of a "player/coach" whereby origination of loans, deposits, and fees fall to the Market President (MP) and to the team members, at the MP's discretion. The MP has annual goals of loan, deposit, and fee generation as well as pre-tax, pre-provision income and overall P and L responsibility for his/her team. The MP represents the Bank in the communities within the market and is highly visible through participation in civic functions.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand organization's strategy and business model and lead/coach team to execute against goals by delivering role clarity, implementing appropriate processes and measuring progress toward success;
  • Leads a collaborative effort across disciplines, executing the Premier Business Bank strategy through team based selling approaches, joint portfolio servicing activities among other tactics;
  • Responsible for activities and development of staff within their assigned area;
  • Owns recruiting and talent development for his/her team;
  • Develops knowledge of and identifies opportunities for the bank across existing client portfolios;
  • Actively participates in business activities within the market to include business development and portfolio service;
  • As an individual, will have limited loan authority to be set and maintained by the bank; and,
  • Works with management to develop the group's strategy. May participate in planning and decision making beyond their specific area, to include but not limited to budget exercises, etc.
  • Responsible for activities requiring management approval such as overdrafts, ACH exceptions, exception wires, etc.
  • Team supervisory responsibilities include performance reviews, expense report approvals, and other typical people leader activities.
  • Responsible for Salesforce tracking and pipeline management.


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job:

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business, economics, finance, or related areas is preferred.
  • The ideal Market President will have 12-15 years of commercial banking experience with a preference for experience with a large, commercial bank;
  • Seasoned manager with a very high level of industry and product expertise; and,
  • Must be skilled in accounting, credit underwriting, credit structuring, negotiation, as well as have extensive experience with treasury management, wealth management, and private banking.
