  • We’re a technology company building the world’s most advanced—and uncomplicated—digital marketplace for used vehicles.

  • We’re a data company helping customers buy and sell smarter with clear, actionable insights they can understand and use.

  • And we’re an innovation company accelerating the future of wholesale remarketing through curiosity, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Our Values:

Driven Waybuilders. We pursue challenges that inspire us to build, create and innovate.

Relentless Curiosity. We seek to understand and improve our customers’ experience.

Smart Risk-Taking. We transform risk into progress through data, experience, and intuition.

Fearless Ownership. We deliver what we promise and learn along the way

OPENLANE is hiring a manager for our Network Engineering Team which is directly responsible for rapid design, testing, deployment, and support of network and security infrastructure supporting OPENLANE operations. You will define system solutions, mentor employees, lead development teams, and share the responsibility for the technical direction for OPENLANE Network and Security Services. You will play an essential role in allowing our employees and systems ability to “connect and protect”. You will work closely with Program & Product Management, and many other teams within OPENLANE to ensure high availability and reliable application delivery over public and private networks.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for passionate technology professionals who want to lead and develop great engineers and develop and execute an OPENLANE network and security vision supporting business operations. We like problem solvers and you’ll be surrounded by like minded teammates aligned to both our internal employees and dealer customers. We need balanced leaders who can assess business needs, develop requirements, and then execute on development, testing, and go-live tasks. We want to simplify and automate our solutions focusing on providing reliable and secure access. We are a cloud first, code first, team embracing NetDevOps and need leaders who share this passion.

Key focus areas:

  • Guide your team to implement the technical direction. Collaboratively work with management, product managers, and your team to grow and evolve the technical direction.

  • Drive, create, and improve operational excellence, quality, security and privacy initiatives within your team and the entire engineering organization using devops best practices.

  • Support an ambitious group of engineers in their career goals. Work with our people operation leadership to maintain our high performance and high morale.

  • Care about agility as much as you care about scalability and availability. Keep projects short and tightly scoped.

  • Promote and coach Infrastructure as code mindset and Network DevOps practices.

  • Understand business context to make decisions within and across groups.

  • Evaluate employee performance, set expectations and goals for team and individual team members, recruit and train team members.

Here are some of the things this team has accomplished recently.

  • Migrated all core infrastructure, application hosting, security platforms and core connectivity from legacy data centers to cloud providers.

  • Supported Network and Security projects related to acquisition and divestiture

  • Started our Network DevOps journey by implementing Net Box and automating IP address management

  • Evaluating Zero Trust principles and security strategies

  • Automation strategy for network delivery and configuration standardization

  • Hardware Refresh for LAN switching platforms

You should have the following:

  • Network Engineering Team Management experience is a requirement. Most management experience will be within some type of agile environment. Experience with SaaS Product development is a plus.

  • You will need to be hands-on technically, comfortable reviewing and writing code.

  • Great people are effective and learn what we use quickly. Our ideal is for every team to be comfortable working across the full stack, delivering new features and capabilities from start to finish.

  • Understanding Network and Security design patterns best practices.

  • Experience building large scale, high-performing, enterprise systems.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

  • Experience with devops concepts (i.e. CI/CD, automated testing, automated deployment, monitoring, etc.).

  • Collaborative approach to work, reaching out across teams and groups to get things done.

  • Able to prioritize, be flexible and handle multiple projects with varying deadlines in a multi-task environment.

  • Highly organized and has a superior attention to detail.

It would be great if you had these:

  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure concepts including AWS Cloud WAN, Transit Gateway, VPN, VPC networking and security.

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security architectures.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay
