RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Lead and manage the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets; oversee and coordinate work of contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams. 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review and approve design plans and specifications. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies; prepare and obtain necessary permits and regulatory approvals. 
  • Regularly visit construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications; conduct inspections ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Communicate project updates, changes, and progress to stakeholders; facilitate project meetings ensuring clear and effective communication with all parties. 
  • Track project expenses and ensure adherence to budget constraints; implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings. 
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones; address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise. 
  • Implement and enforce quality control and quality assurance procedures, as well as safety regulations and standards; conduct safety audits and training sessions for construction teams. 
  • Oversee project closeout processes, including final inspections / documentation; ensure proper commissioning and handover of completed projects. 
  
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred, but not required 
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction management, specifically within water / wastewater; experience managing the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, from initial planning through project completion 
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency with construction management software / tools and construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements 
  • Willingness and ability to travel to projects sites in the Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas 
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative team-based environments 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred, but not required
