MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year if licensed elsewhere.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (365) applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Comprehensive understanding and expertise in the design of water, stormwater, and wastewater utilities, demonstrating cradle-to-grave proficiency in the following areas:
- Preliminary Engineering Reports

- New and Rehabilitation Designs

- Preparation of Project Manuals, including Construction Contract Documents and Technical Specifications

- Coordination with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and structural

- Oversight of Project Advertisement, Bidding, and Construction Administration
  • Experience in designing water distribution systems and/or sanitary sewer collection systems.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to municipal water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage in client presentations and meetings.
  • A foundational understanding of project management techniques is advantageous, along with a willingness to develop these skills for future project leadership.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Proficient in AutoCAD - Civil 3D is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the design of water distribution systems and/or sanitary sewer collection.
  • Skilled in compiling Project Manuals.
  • Preparation of Project Manuals, including Construction Contract Documents and Technical Specifications.
  • Coordination with other engineering disciplines as necessary.
  • Experience in Project Advertisement, Bidding, and Contracting.
  • Familiarity with Construction Administration and Observation.
  • Effective communication skills with design teams and clients.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop project schedules and analyze project budgets.
