Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for analyzing and defining SAP financial systems, business processes and user needs. This position requires extensive knowledge of SAP financial (FICO) solutions like General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Inventory Management (MM), Material Management interface to FI (MM/FI) ,Fixed Assets (FA), Project Systems and Investment Management (IM). Additional responsibilities include technical leadership, mentoring other team members, and leading projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
  • Independently lead meetings with stakeholders to gather, document, review business requirements.
  • Meet with business partners, project managers, and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, and lead prioritization of build items.   Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications to stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.  This includes creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the team.
  • Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow. Document risks and identify mitigation strategies.
  • Define, analyze, and evaluate existing business functions and processes and make recommendations to management on opportunities for process improvements.
  • Perform and/or coordinate SAP configuration changes for applications.
  • Work with other project team members to configure, and test SAP FICO business processes.
  • Lead and Participate in the execution of test cases as part of the Quality Assurance process.
  • Review system design plans for reasonableness and fit with the business requirements, and identify Gaps to Prepare process and systems documentations
  • Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Provide orientation to end users for modifications to existing processes and new functionality.      
  • Engage with Leadership /Business to prepare technology /solution roadmap, evaluate systems/processes/third party applications to deliver on the initiatives.
  • Lead project /support initiatives / on-call activities on a day to day basis 
  • Coach and guide peers/ junior team members on SAP FICO configuration and processes.
     
Required Qualifications

Experience: 10 years or more of experience implementing / supporting SAP Finance (FICO) solutions. Experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology. 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related technical degree is preferred.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

High Demand IT Specialized skills: SAP S/4
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
  • Expert level knowledge in customizing and configuring SAP FICO - General Ledger (GL), Faxed Assets (FA) Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank and Treasury, Cost and Profit Center Accounting, Project Systems (PA), and Internal Orders 
  • Advanced knowledge of the MM/FI interface as related to invoices.
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics invoice verification and 3-way match in SAP MM/AP and ability to independently implement/support vendor invoice management applications such as Open Text, Ariba. Ability to troubleshoot all open text and Ariba integrated applications/systems.
  • Advanced understanding of the basic principles of SAP material management systems modules such as MM, IM, etc. 
  • Advanced skills supporting month end, quarter end, year-end FICO processes and propose process optimization.
  • Expert level knowledge in Finance Interfaces leveraging IDOC, BAPI, File and EDI 
  • Advanced ability to learn, develop, and maintain report writer/painter reports in FICO.
  • Advanced understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the native SAP S/4 technical architecture/solution.
  • Advanced knowledge of tables and SQL concepts, as related to FICO.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to independently lead and deliver projects on time with minimal direction from solution standpoint, working with project team members (both SAP and non-SAP areas), businesses and other project stakeholders
  • Superior collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to develop new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions.
  • Able to lead requirement/solution discussion with cross-functional teams such as MM, Sales/Inventory, Reporting, and QA Systems
  • Ability to manage /lead/ coach Jr. /Sr. level FICO analysts in the areas of solution/configuration/support delivery
