Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Maintenance & Engineering Lead, the Maintenance Coordinator acts as the maintenance single point of contact for the shift between Operations and Maintenance to assure process continuity. Lead equipment troubleshooting and failure investigations to determine root causes and propose solutions. Supports the Reliability Engineer in developing and maintaining Preventive / Predictive Maintenance programs; recommends work schedules which balance and level Maintenance workloads to help optimize Maintenance labor utilization and internal production schedules.
Is responsible to ensure the maintenance work is properly executed as coordinated and documented. Backup of the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler on planning or coordination activities to enable repairs and maintenance in facilities, utilities, manufacturing and packaging machines and/or equipment.
Role
Duties and Responsibilities include the day-to-day operations surrounding the following aspects:
- Maintenance Point of Contact for daily maintenance work, troubleshooting and/or problem-solving activities for manufacturing, packaging and utilities (Electrical & Mechanical).
- Evaluates and Audits PM execution and routine tasks.
- Coordinate the shift emergency maintenance work and identify and obtain parts to address the emergency.
- Identifies and recommends machine improvements.
- Is responsible for the maintenance unit pass downs and involvement with operation unit pass downs.
- Participates in scheduled departmental meetings and communication of any maintenance and change over activities in progress with operations.
- Regularly communicates with operation supervision, leads and craftsmen regarding any maintenance concerns or actions.
- Performs planned equipment overhauls and re-builds.
- Demonstrates good knowledge in change over activities related to manufacturing operations.
- Ensures adherence to daily management systems.
- Helps and assists other discipline technicians such as E/I technicians in their daily responsibilities, as needed.
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities to any equipment as necessary.
- Provides backup to the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler with Work Orders Backlog awareness and control.
- Provides backup to the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler determining work requirements with regards to equipment availability, labor, skills, materials, and tools
- Leads equipment failure investigations to determine root causes and propose solutions.
- Monitors and assures Work Orders completion.
- Assures completeness / develop documentation on Work Orders including root cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Identifies areas of improvement, coordinate resources and develop implementation plan.
- Helps to identify critical spare parts for maintenance equipment to be stocked in the sites stockroom.
- Creates and confirms work orders in CMMS system, finds parts from store room in CMMS.
- Co-Leads with the Reliability Engineer and performs as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Performs HPM cart rebuilds per established procedures, glues head rebuilds, HPM cart hopper rebuilds.
Professional Profile
- Associate/Technical Degree in Industrial Mechanic, Electronic, Electrical or Instrumentation (Preferred).
- Must have technical proficiency.
- Minimum seven (7) years experience working with manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Must have ability to interpret drawings and technical instructions.
- Possesses strong mechanical, pneumatic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Possesses analytical Skills.
- Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials.
- Skilled at Planning and Organizing.
- Is proficient in using computers for basic functions.
- Willing to learn and adopt Reliability concepts and technologies.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Teaching/mentoring skills able to convey concepts and ideas in classroom and hands on training environment.
- Interpersonal skills able to comfortably deal with all types of personalities.
- Able to proactively manage products under his/her responsibility.
- Strong leadership skills and adequate professional maturity.
- Team worker, able to efficiently liaise with other company departments.
- Able to prioritize, to organize his/her time efficiently.
- Understands Regulatory and Production contents necessary for the internal development of new products.
- Open-minded and flexible, able to understand other cultures personalities in a training environment.
- Needs to be able to sit/stand/walk in both an office environment and production floor/lab/warehouse settings.
- Needs to be able to support a 24/5, 24/6 or 24/7 operation.
