Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Management: Utilize your knowledge of process engineering elements to support buildings and equipment, with a primary focus on FDA-regulated facilities. This includes:
    • Process equipment such as single-use and stainless-steel bioreactors, isolators, harvest, purification, clean-in-place (CIP), media, and buffer prep equipment.
    • Clean utility equipment such as autoclaves, clean steam generators, water for injection (WFI) systems, and temperature control units (TCU).
    • Facility equipment such as air handling units (AHU), plant steam boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals to coordinate projects under the direction of a senior engineer.
  • Data Management: Utilize cloud-based maintenance management software (CMMS) systems such as Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager (BMRAM) to manage data and maintain equipment records.
  • Process Improvement: Develop new maintenance plans and protocols, improve existing procedures, and evaluate the impact of changes based on user feedback.
  • Facility Operations: Coordinate with users, facilities engineers, commissioning agents, and calibration technicians to ensure facility operations with minimal downtime.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with an emphasis in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Experience designing in accordance with cGMPs within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of process/utilities/HVAC systems, technical writing skills, and comfort with reading technical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Soft Skills: Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines and prioritize accordingly.
