Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our team at Midland Farms Inc. as a key member of our maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of dairy production and processing equipment, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and utility-related equipment.
  • Equipment Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480v, 3 phase, and perform maintenance on building and support equipment.
  • Assembly and Fabrication: Direct and coordinate assembly, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure equipment and systems conform to engineering design and internal specifications and standards.
  • Design Modifications: Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions or to improve safety, quality, or equipment operating parameters.
  • Interpretation and Assignment: Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign duties to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all company policies, plant rules, and regulations, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Report and take necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
  • Inspection and Measurement: Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems, and realign and adjust functional components and control instruments.
  • Welding and Machining: Perform welding and machining tasks as needed, including the repair or creation of existing parts.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools, and perform electrical maintenance and repair work.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management: Use the company's computerized maintenance management system to record and access maintenance-related information.
  • Training and Assistance: Assist machine operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime, and ensure all repairs are documented.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist in training other maintenance staff as needed, and work collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or Technical School
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of skilled industrial maintenance experience
  • Skills: Possess training/experience in at least two or more of the following areas: single and three-phase industrial electricity and control systems, AC/DC drive systems, pneumatics/hydraulics systems, welding practices and techniques, machining/fabricating practices and techniques, industrial boiler operations, water treatment systems, HVAC systems
  • Additional Requirements: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
