The Department of Women's Health at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Data Architect.




Limited to 2 years from start date.




Purpose


The data architect will extract data from multiple existing electronic health records systems, merging data across systems to develop a clinical research database. This person will also provide technical guidance and analytic support for current and future clinical research projects.




Responsibilities


Work with personnel from the University of Texas Dell Medical School, Ascension Seton Medical Center and Community Care to develop the necessary data infrastructure and application systems to support the research and clinical-based registries/databases for the Women's Health Department. Manage the successful completion of assigned projects, including information systems development and support.


Serve as liaison between the clinical team and the informatics and technology teams at Ascension Seton. Ability to guide the team on best practices for infrastructure design. Assist the team to organize, query and visualize clinical data for outcomes analyses, and research/quality improvement initiatives.


Provide and coordinate ongoing technical support to current and future Women's Health data systems for outcomes, research, and quality improvement needs.


Other related duties as assigned.




Required Qualifications
Four-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Health Care, Social Sciences, or other related field. Five to seven years of programming and management or project management experience, should include: data architecture, the development of and management of performance quality indicators, database development (Python, SQL and no-SQL). System level knowledge of programming, OS operations, database query, and data mining experience. System level knowledge of server, applications, workstation, image modalities, and client-server networking. Experience with RedCAP. Experience with clinical registries, health care projects, data analytics, creating quality and outcome reports and data visualization. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.




Preferred Qualifications
Master's or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Health Care, Social Sciences, or other related field. Knowledge of statistics and experience with statistical software.
