Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Workshop Manager to lead our service department, which consists of 20 skilled auto technicians. The Workshop Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the garage, ensuring staff productivity, managing service workflow, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive aftersales management, with a strong focus on quality service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
  2. Oversee all service and repair activities, ensuring efficiency and maximum productivity of all technicians.
  3. Manage workflow, prioritize vehicle jobs, and ensure timely and accurate completion of service and repair tasks.
  4. Follow up with various manufacturers to obtain responses and diagnostic assistance, resolving complex issues effectively.
  5. Ensure the workshop is safe, clean, and equipped with up-to-date tools and equipment to meet service needs.
  6. Coordinate with the Business Development Center (BDC) and service team to maintain effective customer communication and updates.
  7. Customer Service Excellence:
  8. Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring high-quality customer interactions, satisfaction, and loyalty.
  9. Resolve customer complaints promptly, turning unhappy customers into satisfied ones.
  10. Oversee warranty and recall jobs and manage vehicles awaiting parts to minimize customer wait times.
  11. Team Leadership and Development:
  12. Lead, motivate, and support a team of auto technicians to foster a positive and productive working environment.
  13. Provide ongoing coaching, development, and feedback to team members.
  14. Ensure all technicians adhere to dealership and manufacturer standards and procedures.
  15. Quality Control:
  16. Ensure all repairs meet high standards and adhere to industry and manufacturer specifications.
  17. Regularly inspect completed work for quality assurance.
  18. Administrative Duties:
  19. Follow up with the parts department to ensure orders are placed, and progress is updated.
  20. Maintain accurate service records, schedules, and reports.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of automotive aftersales experience, with at least 5 years in a management role within a garage or workshop.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Service Management, or a related field.
  • Certified automotive technician or service manager, with a record of completed manufacturer training.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A calm and patient demeanor, with the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility and a customer-first mindset, willing to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in service management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience managing brands such as Hyundai, Honda, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Changan Auto, or GAC Motor is a plus.
