Job Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Concussion Office Coordinator assists with day-to-day operations of the Concussion Center. Responsibilities include: patient reception, scheduling and registration, data entry, collecting co pays, discharging and other general clerical duties that include typing, copying, faxing and filing, telephone communication with patients, physicians, insurance companies, and other allied health professionals.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High School Degree or equivalent required.Associates degree or bachelor's degree preferred. Additional coursework in business or administration strongly preferred.

Experience :

Three plus years experience in an administrative office environment.

Ability to work independently, self-starter, sensitive to patient confidentiality.

Knowledge of hospital and administrative functions.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.

Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Third Party Billing.

Licensure and/or Certification:

Graduate of a Medical Assistant/Secretary program preferred.

Skills:

Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Excellent Interpersonal and Customer Service skills.

Effective communication and telephone skills, positive etiquette and manners.

Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented with strong ability to prioritize multiple duties.

Data entry skills required.

Meditech experience required.

Ability to work accurately with detailed confidential information and maintain confidential information.

Displays leadership qualities for clerical staff.

Must possess basic mathematical skills and have analytical skills to resolve referral issues related to multiple groups including third party payers, physicians, patients and varied computer systems.

Ability to prioritize, work independently and make decisions within designated authority.

Utilizes interpersonal communication strategies/skills to achieve outcome/results with patients, family and others.

Strong typing skills with the ability to type 60 wpm.

Ability to establish effective working relationships.

Ability to speak with authority on appropriate issues.

Advanced computer skills required including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
