We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.A day in the Life:This sales role reports into the Sr. Director of the North American Life Science (LS) Electron Microscopy (EM) Sales team6 direct reports total, sales and sales development repsCollaborate and interact to drive business with the North American Academic/Government, Pharma and Biotech Life Science EM sales and sales development teams and leadership Influence business strategies based on Analysis of market trends, customer requirements, and competitive strategy, and finding opportunities for growing customer and business value through product positioning and differentiation.Focus on market creation by driving pipeline creation and conversion, as well as building new customer adoption of Electron Microscopy for Pharma an Biotech customers by working with the NA sales leaders and the Business Unit marketing teams on strategies to deploy regionally and as part of the globally ecosystem.Drive the Sales execution (0.5-2 year sales cycles) of the overall commercial strategic Pharma plan of the Thermo Fisher Electron Microscopy Life Sciences Business Unit.Drive the Regional Pharma Sales and Sales Development teams, focusing on Global Pharma account execution and regional Biotech accountsCollaborate with the Life Sciences Pharma and Biotech Business development directors and LS Sales Leaders to set up practical methods to roll out pipeline growth campaigns that support the strategic plan.Coordinate Sales development efforts by managing the regional Sales development teams with the Sales Account teams through Detailed Work PlansSupport the Pharma account teams, by contributing your C-suite customer relationships within the Pharma and Biotech business. Analyze and propose new Sales development strategies used by peers within the North American LS EM Sales Team and outside the Company.Perform monthly pipeline reviews and report out to the Life Sciences management team.Manage specific campaign rollouts with the Pharma/Biotech Sales and Sales dev teams.Organize workshops and site visits targeting new customersExecute sales strategies  through defined sales processes including, but no limited to, Miller Heiman Timely feedback to product marketing management about market trends and competitive updates is essentialWork closely with the NA LS sales organization to gain business by providing outstanding sales strategies & value propositions, especially with high value and complex dealsKeys to Success:3 plus years of sales is strongly preferred3 plus years’ experience in sales management is strongly preferred, or strong leadership skills combined with Electron Microscopy experienceExperience selling Capital EquipmentExperience calling into Pharma and Biotech companiesSkills:Excellent oral, written and presentation skillsGoal and Objective Management skillsCoaching and Leadership skillsExcellent Sales Process SkillsStrong Collaboration skillsCapable at working in a heavily matrixed environmentEducationB. A. or B.SC. in Business Management or equivalent and/or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related science with sales experience required.  Benefits:The salary range estimated for this position is $130k - 198k base pay, this position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
