MAU is hiring a Bilingual Technical Translator (Mandarin) for AESC in Smyrna, TN. As a Bilingual Technical Translator (Mandarin), you will play a key role in driving our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future. Reporting to the Project Director, you will collaborate across various engineering teams as a technical translator in meetings and documentation, bridging communication between English and Mandarin Chinese. This is a long-term contract opportunity.

Shift Information:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM


General Requirements:

  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English, with expertise in precise and effective translation and interpretation for written and verbal communication
  • Technical or engineering background preferred
  • Strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Essential Functions:

  • Attend meetings to facilitate communication between Chinese and U.S. engineers across Process Engineering, the Global Engineering Center, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing teams
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of battery manufacturing industry terminology
  • Translate technical documents related to engineering and maintenance, including reports, manuals, specifications, and CAD drawings


Work Environment or Working Conditions:

  • The work environment is primarily within an automated manufacturing facility with a concrete floor characterized by temperature fluctuations, moderate noise levels, and regular forklift traffic. The individual must be capable of performing all essential functions on the plant floor, as well as in meetings and interactions with employees, management, customers, and suppliers.
