Job Title: RF/Radar Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled RF/Radar Systems Engineer to join our team at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. As a key member of our Antenna Systems Division, you will work on projects involving the design, production, and testing of prototype radar and communications antennas for various sponsors, mostly in the DOD community.

Job Summary

The RF/Radar Systems Engineer will work with a team to perform advanced system and algorithm development using established systems engineering approaches. Based on detailed trade studies and requirements analyses, you will develop solutions to satisfy system requirements and perform functions related to all aspects of radar system design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct refined RF subsystem and system design studies, testing plans, and analysis of requirements into detailed performance design criteria in conjunction with the technical lead.
  • Design and build templates to assist SMEs in providing critical system information.
  • Conduct product or system design synthesis translating requirements into physical architectures for RF subsystems and systems of low complexity.
  • Define/refine internal and external interfaces for RF subsystems and systems.
  • Develop technical reports and diagrams detailing design description or performance as defined by requirements.
Requirements
  • Modeling and simulation experience with MATLAB (experience with computational electromagnetic codes like HFSS and FEKO a plus)
  • Antenna design knowledge
  • Experience with antenna-related hardware
  • Phased array antenna theory and hardware knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Expertise in electromagnetic theory
  • Knowledge of digital beamforming and adaptive signal processing
  • Antenna test, measurement, and integration experience
  • Working knowledge of radar system function
