The System Director, Provider Experience, reporting to the VP of Talent Management, will lead the establishment of Fairview Health’s Provider Employment Center of Excellence (CoE). This CoE will act as a nucleus of innovation, expertise, and best practices within Fairview, focusing on how we attract, retain, develop, and engage Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The System Director, Provider Experience will lead the redesign of the talent acquisition process for Providers and APPs, as well as strategizing and executing the development of an integrated employee lifecycle and value chain to enhance key experiences for Physicians and APPs. This role is responsible for partnering with key leaders to design and implement strategies that enhance the employment experience for this key talent group.

Responsibilities
  1. Craft a comprehensive strategy for the phased establishment of the Provider Engagement model, with an initial emphasis on talent acquisition and onboarding.
  2. Define key focus areas, initiatives, timelines, and success metrics.
  3. Engage with Executive Leaders and stakeholders from various departments to grasp their requirements, secure their support, and align with system priorities and objectives.
  4. Develop strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the experience of Providers and APPs, aligning with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
Stakeholder Engagement
  1. Foster and nurture strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), senior leadership, department heads, and subject matter experts.
  2. Foster strong relationships with Physicians and APPs to understand their needs, challenges, and expectations.
  3. Work closely with stakeholders to pinpoint needs, opportunities, and challenges that the Center of Excellence (CoE) can address.
  4. Articulate the value proposition of the CoE and advocate for its initiatives and impact across the organization.
Knowledge Management and Operations
  1. Develop and deploy systems, tools, and processes to efficiently capture, organize, and educate leaders to instill practices across the organization.
  2. Stay abreast of workforce trends and macro-environmental shifts influencing Provider Experience to inform the creation of effective best practices.
  3. Identify opportunities for process improvement within Fairview to streamline workflows, reduce administrative burden, and enhance efficiency for Providers and APPs.
Governance and Structure
  1. Design a robust governance framework, organizational structure, and operational model, implementing a phased approach for sustainable solutions.
  2. Clarify roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines for team members and stakeholders.
  3. Establish streamlined processes for decision-making, resource allocation, change management, and security buy-in.
Performance Measurement and Reporting
  1. Define key performance metrics to gauge effectiveness and overall impact.
  2. Set up mechanisms for tracking and reporting progress towards objectives and desired outcomes.
  3. Utilize data analytics to monitor Provider and APP satisfaction, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve the Provider and APP experience.
  4. Cultivate a collaborative culture of learning and continual improvement within the team.
  5. Take the helm of Provider recruiting efforts, prioritizing skill enhancement through coaching and professional development initiatives.
QualificationsEducation
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or equivalent work experience.
Experience
  1. 10+ years experience crafting solutions aimed at attracting, nurturing, and engaging talent.
  2. 5+ years of leadership experience including direct people leadership.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in spearheading large-scale organizational initiatives.
  4. Extensive track record of success in navigating complex, matrixed environments to drive results through collaboration.
  5. Proficient in project leadership, adept at steering multifaceted initiatives from inception through execution.
  6. Recognized for thought leadership, driven by a results-driven approach focused on tangible outcomes.
