Bungie is looking for a Contract Senior Manager of Trust and Safety to drive our efforts in fostering a safe, fair, and inclusive gaming environment across all our games. Reporting to the Director of Analytics, you will coordinate with Sony Legal and Online Safety teams as well as Bungie cross-functional teams to determine and implement initiatives in policy development, legal compliance, content moderation, behavior management, and security. You will play a pivotal role in building systems that proactively protect our players from harm, abuse, and misconduct.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ownership of Trust and Safety initiatives from inception to completion. Coordinate with Sony Legal and Online Safety to drive policy documentation and requirements for Bungie products that align with Bungie‘s goals for a respectful and inclusive gaming community.
  2. Drive initiatives for compliance with laws and regulations related to online safety, privacy, and content regulation, including GDPR, OSA, and DSA requirements.
  3. Collaborate with legal counsel to adapt strategies for emerging regulations.
  4. Manage a program of cross-functional teams across Bungie and Sony to build systems that comply with regulations and proactively protect players.
  5. Champion player experience, safety, and inclusivity within Bungie. Foster a culture of trust and respect within Bungie and its gaming communities.
  6. Drive creation of comprehensive policies and enforcement measures with Security and Player Support for community conduct, user-generated content creation, security, and anti-cheat behaviors.
  7. Guide initiatives for advanced tools and workflows for efficient reporting and moderation of voice and text chats.
  8. Develop and enforce player data retention policies and protect user identities and assets.
  9. Determine policies and implementation requirements around age-gating and parental controls to ensure compliance with child safety regulations.
  10. Consult on personalization of in-game advertising and marketing messages, ensuring compliance with privacy policies and user preferences.
  11. Track progress and report on cross-studio trust and safety initiatives.
  12. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive initiatives and foster collaboration.
  13. Keep informed of industry standards and trends and establish best practices for Bungie products, educating teams on compliant development and current policies.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  1. Proven experience leading, aligning, and facilitating effective collaboration among cross-studio teams toward a common goal.
  2. Experience coordinating feature or program development in the video game industry.
  3. Excellent documentation skills, capable of creating clear and concise reports.
  4. Familiarity with game development processes and tools, including data and security workflows.
  5. Experience translating legal or regulatory guidance into workflows to ensure compliance.
  6. Effective communication and leadership skills to drive initiatives and influence stakeholders.
  7. The ability to work independently with a strong bias-for-action and proven leadership in times of urgency.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  1. Experience in data privacy management, preferably within the video game industry or related technology sectors covering large-scale international user bases and multiple ETL pipelines.
  2. Strong knowledge of data protection and online safety regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, DSA, OSA) and best practices for data privacy, including child-safety compliance measures.
