The Director of Employee Benefits and Total Rewards plans, develops, manages, and leads the employee benefit teams and benefits services provided to Lever1 clients. The Director will continually review and evaluate the offerings to ensure quality and profitability as well as client satisfaction and retention. The Director of Employee Benefits and Total Rewards will be responsible for working with the leadership team from all departments to ensure our benefit offerings are competitive, responsive and provide overall value to our clients and their employees.

Essential Job Functions:

• Advises, consults, and serves as a member of the leadership team in the development and execution of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on broad corporate goals, acquisitions, strategic planning, and growth objectives.

• Manage assigned employees in all areas of supervision and performance.

• Serve on the 401k advisory committee.

• Oversee the 401k benefit plan and assist with administration for clients.

• Evaluates and analyzes the results of the programs and services regularly and systematically; reports these results to the chief executive officer in addition to other management reporting such as benefit loss and claims control, sales, budgets, division P&L, special projects, etc.

• Reviews and analyzes the benefits market to determine employee needs, trends, regulations, and practices, and develops competitive programs and services to meet company goals.

• Prepares and monitors department budget.

• Plans and directs the implementation and administration of benefits programs.

• Directs preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits programs such as insurance plans, pension plans, 401(k), life and special employer-sponsored plans.

• Plans for the modification of existing benefits programs.

• Directs support functions in providing customer service, information records, claims, etc.

• Assist with the selection and management of all benefit offerings for Lever1’s master plan.

• Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.

• Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.

• Oversee the distribution of all benefits enrollment materials and ensure quality and accuracy.

• Ensure client needs are met in all areas of benefits with timely and accurate responses.

• Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

• Oversee the open enrollment process.

• Meet with clients to review plans and renewals while staying ahead of timelines for efficient roll outs, as needed.

• Troubleshoot client or vendor questions through to resolution.

• Oversee internal benefit reconciliation process to ensure proper collection of premiums and accurate coverage for all employees.

• Work with third party auditors to ensure all plans meet requirements and are filed timely.

• Maintain benefit files and records in accordance with state and federal requirements.

• Assist with Lever1 compliance deadlines and ensure we maintain good standing with all states of operation.

• Take a proactive approach to foreseeing issues for clients and providing suggestions.

• Perform work free from error and within timeline.

• Travel to client and prospect locations as assigned.

• Attend required onsite meetings.

• All other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

• At least 5 years of related experience in an HR leadership role.
