Position Summary:

The Director of Employee Benefits and Total Rewards is responsible for strategizing, developing, and overseeing the employee benefits teams and services provided to Lever1's clientele. This role involves continuous assessment and enhancement of our offerings to ensure they are of high quality, profitable, and meet client satisfaction and retention goals. The Director will collaborate with leadership across all departments to guarantee that our benefits solutions are competitive, responsive, and deliver substantial value to our clients and their workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and collaborate with the leadership team to formulate and implement both short-term and long-term strategies and budgets aligned with corporate objectives, growth plans, and acquisitions.
  • Supervise and manage team members across various functions.
  • Participate in the 401k advisory committee.
  • Oversee the administration of the 401k benefit plan for clients.
  • Regularly evaluate and analyze program outcomes, reporting findings to the CEO and other management, including metrics on benefit loss, claims control, sales, budgets, and special projects.
  • Research and assess the benefits market to identify employee needs, trends, regulations, and best practices, developing competitive programs to achieve company objectives.
  • Prepare and oversee the department's budget.
  • Plan and manage the implementation and administration of benefits programs.
  • Direct the creation and dissemination of information regarding benefits programs, including insurance, pension, 401(k), and other employer-sponsored plans.
  • Plan modifications to existing benefits programs as necessary.
  • Lead support functions in delivering customer service, managing information records, and handling claims.
  • Assist in selecting and managing all benefit offerings for Lever1's master plan.
  • Ensure the accuracy of benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with precise eligibility data.
  • Support employees with inquiries regarding benefits claims and plan modifications.
  • Oversee the distribution of benefits enrollment materials, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to client needs in all areas of benefits.
  • Address benefits inquiries from managers and employees regarding plan provisions, enrollments, status changes, and general questions.
  • Manage the open enrollment process effectively.
  • Meet with clients to review plans and renewals, ensuring timely execution of rollouts as needed.
  • Resolve client or vendor inquiries to satisfaction.
  • Oversee the internal benefits reconciliation process to ensure accurate premium collection and coverage for all employees.
  • Collaborate with third-party auditors to ensure compliance with all plan requirements and timely filings.
  • Maintain benefit files and records in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with compliance deadlines to maintain good standing across all operational states.
  • Proactively identify potential issues for clients and provide constructive recommendations.
  • Perform duties with a focus on accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Travel to client and prospect locations as required.
  • Attend necessary onsite meetings.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 5 years of relevant experience in an HR leadership capacity.
