Manager, Flight Training Coordination and Resource Planning

POSITION PURPOSE
Organizes the planning, scheduling and execution of pilot training needs, and the use of resources in training, including both physical and human.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Oversees the planning of all initial, upgrade and recurrent training events in accordance with the Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
- Ensures training resources are in place for pilots and Instructor/Evaluators.
- Provides forecast of future training physical and human resource needs.
- Ensures TSA FTSP compliance for all non-US citizen’s training.
- Oversees and maintains a schedule for the Flight Training Coordination Team.
- Ensures the group’s processes are aligned with the department’s policies and procedures, and processes for the group are documented and maintained in the group’s guide
- Leads the Training Coordination group by coaching, providing leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports.
- Evaluate, identify, and implement solutions on the efficiency of initial, upgrade and recurrent training programs
- Reviews Flight Safety billing and invoices for completion and accuracy.
- Monitors and trends simulator and flight training device reliability
- Uses the Training Management System (TMS) to optimize pilot training schedules
- Ensures training cycle times are completed per current company goals
- Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
- Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential employees.
- Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff.
- Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- 3 years of experience in the Airline industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft 365 suite experience
- Experience in complex scheduling of resources
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and direct people
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Previous supervisor experience
- Experience in an Advanced Qualification Program (AQP)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, training manuals, company publications, union contracts, and memos
Ability to write correspondence – mainly through electronic communication – in a professional manner with cohesion and clarity
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to other associates of the organization as well as communicate effectively to understand problems and enact solutions
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to determine best methods to solve problems by referring to company manuals, labor contract language, precedents, and policies.

Makes decisions daily on use of resources. Makes limited decisions and determines best methods to solve problems by referring to established precedents and policies. Impact of decisions is moderate.
