Job Description

At The Cake Bake Shop, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team.

This role provides project, administrative, and office support for the Human Resources department, under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager.

The primary function of this position is records maintenance, but will also perform duties such as assisting with recruitment, onboarding, screening calls, resolving issues when able, and working on special Human Resources projects.

As an HR Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of employee information, training, and compliance.
  • Assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes, including scheduling interviews and orientations.
  • Screening calls and responding to routine and non-routine inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Drafting written responses and replies by phone or email as needed.
  • Providing administrative support for HR-related projects and initiatives.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor in all interactions with employees, management, and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite or related software.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior related office experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
