POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for a comprehensive schedule control system, managing time and resources to ensure work/projects are completed on time, and support FCC Construction, Inc. (FCC) on heavy civil infrastructure projects. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, roadways, airports, mass transit systems, canals, or tunnels. We pursue various projects stretching across the US. FCC is looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop planning level and baseline construction schedules and establish protocols to track work progress using Oracle P6 software.
  • Create high-level master schedules.
  • Analyze and validate the preliminary/baseline schedule against the overall project objectives.
  • Review project progress & schedule updates to proactively anticipate schedule impacts and advise the project team concerning the same.
  • Track critical activities and changes to the critical path impacting the project.
  • Provide information on items impacting the project schedule.
  • Responsible for spotting the critical path, as well as proffering alternatives to regain slippage to the schedule.
  • Strategize ways to negotiate claims, including office overhead, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Effectively communicate the outcome of the schedule development (or update) process by presenting targeted and relevant information from the schedule in elegant and effective formats.
  • Participate in and advise on schedule-related contract negotiations.
  • Responsible for providing technical support in claims litigation.
  • Collaborate with the project management staff and personnel.
  • Provide a summary and report on project progress.
  • Document changes integrated into the project schedule.
  • Assist with the determination of staffing needs, materials, and supplies.
  • Monitor progress on projects, develop timetables for projects and identify variance in completion of work tied to schedule deadlines.
  • Spot project risks and include impact analysis for review by the project team.
  • Responsible for maintaining current and standardized job files.
  • Develop Time Impact Analyses including cost justification backup and support.


EDUCATION, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project experience, with construction scheduling, construction management, and project controls. Multi-year heavy/civil projects are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and maintain complete and accurate project data.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 software & Visualizer.
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with CAD required, Bentley MicroStation preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Project, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.
  • Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Solid analytical skills to collect and interpret data.
  • Proficiency in understanding blueprints and contracts.
