Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Roofing Sales Specialist to develop new client relationships and drive the sales of preventive roof maintenance agreements, restoration coating systems, and corrective roof repairs for commercial, industrial, and government buildings. The successful candidate will manage inspection and proposal opportunities, ensuring they are accurately and promptly recorded in the CRM system.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with property and facilities managers, general contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
  • Conduct thorough roof inspections and prepare detailed proposals, including material quotes, labor requirements, project pricing, and bid abstracts.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to create accurate estimates.
  • Attend job walks, prepare take-offs by measuring and noting all variables of the roof site, requiring multiple site visits as needed.
  • Prepare itemized lists and summaries, compute cost factors, and formulate estimates for management purposes, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
  • Consult with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss and resolve estimate-related issues.
  • Maintain a centralized cost estimating database and formal process to support accurate and historical data-driven cost estimates.
  • Identify cost trends and suggest improvements for cost reduction.
  • Estimate prices for change orders on existing contracts.
  • Attend pre-construction and bid/pre-qualification meetings to support project initiation and planning.


Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in commercial roofing estimating, preferably with a focus on service and/or coating restoration work.
  • Proven track record of successfully selling profitable commercial roofing service agreements and restoration coating systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong report writing, proposal drafting, and business correspondence skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, managers, and customers.
  • Experience working with a diverse client/customer base.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and various other computer software applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturer product warranties.
  • Ability to work with office administrative procedures and standard office equipment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable skills in commercial roofing estimating.
  • Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software.
