Position Summary:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will serve as an engineering & manufacturing professional for Client across various programs requiring product design and development knowledge. Your knowledge and expertise will be widely applied across Client's broad client base from various industry domains such as aerospace, automotive, other defense sectors. You will provide leadership around new technologies and methodologies while working with clients in defining the future state for their engineering and manufacturing strategies. The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, analyzing, and reviewing the procedures and processes involved in manufacturing and quality.

As a key member of the Client Customer Engagement Team, the Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for executing against key milestones and deliverable timelines. This role requires client-facing interaction with project teams in meeting aggressive timelines and delivering effective client solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and review analyses of part production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to better understand future requirements needed for customers manufacturing processes
  • Perform and review design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) to identify and assess design and manufacturing risks
  • Provide technical advice to suppliers and clients for meeting AIAG / AS9145 PPAP requirements
  • Drive suppliers execution PPAP documentation to meet PPAP accuracy and schedule requirements
  • Perform accurate / professional documentation and presentation of technical data, analyses, and reports
  • Review manufacturing instructions, methods, and processes to identify and improve customer efficiency
  • Develop process strategy documentation outlining the technical and process changes and analyses
  • Contribute to technical execution of projects around focus areas of Industry 4.0 / Digital Factory / Model Based Enterprise / Advanced Manufacturing / Additive Manufacturing
  • Support active feedback between customers and the client team to drive improvements
  • Partner effectively with Client project/ program management, technical team, and customer to deliver according to agreed plans and schedules
  • Validate suppliers production test run data to validate key performance indicators (e.g., Cpk, run-at-rate)
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues as they arise and initiate corrective actions
  • Manage deliverables and execute tasks according to schedule with minimal oversight
  • Work with suppliers to establish a PPAP schedule and hold suppliers accountable for meeting deadlines
  • Work with end-user groups to evaluate and solve technical problems


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ years related engineering experience
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
  • Expertise in GD&T
  • Experience with assembly and testing of machined, forged/cast, or fabricated aerospace parts
  • Experience with design for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, and cost
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Experience in editing and controlling PFMEAs and Control Plans
  • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively and work with business and technical stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and influential skills
  • Availability for travel to customer locations as required; estimated at up to 50% - client dependent
  • Understanding of PPAP through PPAP Level 5
