Summary:
The Sr. Human Resource Generalist is the lead and primary point of contact for all company matters related to human resources. This position is responsible for performing HR-related duties in the following functional areas: benefits administration, processing salary payroll, workplace safety and compliance, and will support the team in executing the overall mission and vision. This position has one direct report, Human Resources Assistant.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit and onboard new hires, conduct performance management and provide feedback
  • Manage & submit salary payroll, maintain salary & hourly payroll records including payroll deduction verification and audit
  • Negotiate & facilitate annual benefit contract renewals, plan set-ups within the existing HRIS, including file feeds, open enrollments and periodic change requests for new and existing employees.
  • Administer leave of absences including, including short-term disability, long-term disability, OFLA and FMLA.
  • Audit and compliance in: OSHA logs & reporting, WC, SOC, FMLA, WOTC, ADA, I9
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Maintain an open-door policy and personal accessibility to invite employee communication, engagement and issue resolution
  • Establish strong partnerships with employees and management
  • Ensure procedures are met, maintained, and followed consistently
  • The ideal candidate must be hands-on and visible on the shop floor.
  • Periodic intra-day travel to our facility in Pittsburgh, PA is required but infrequent.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in human resources is desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is required
  • Strong recruiting and a demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
  • Technically sound in human resources fundamentals and best practices in manufacturing operations
  • Broad knowledge of safety, training and development, employee relations, performance management, and organizational planning
  • Working knowledge of benefits and compensation programs.
  • A strong knowledge and working experience with Paycom or other HRIS is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, from shop floor to leadership team
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Desired Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years' experience in human resources is desired.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is required
