Job Description

MERIT BRASS COMPANY IS SEEKING A HIGHLY MOTIVATED AND ORGANIZED HR GENERALIST TO JOIN OUR TEAM.

We are a family-owned business with over 85 years of experience in the pipe, valve, fittings, and press products industry. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest level of integrity in all benefits and staffing-related areas, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support all levels of the organization to achieve success, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee the administration of benefits, medical, 401(k), payroll, disability, and other related programs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Uphold the Merit Brass Company corporate mission statement, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful attitude, serving as a role model for colleagues and employees.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Review and track compliance with training, education, and assessments, ensuring employees meet required standards.
  • Recruit and interview job applicants, selecting top talent to join our team.
  • Conduct background checks and employee verifications, ensuring a safe and secure work environment.
  • Implement new hire orientation and recognition programs, enhancing employee engagement and retention.
  • Administer human resource programs and policies, providing guidance and support to employees and management.
  • Handle inquiries and issues related to employment, resolving conflicts and concerns in a fair and timely manner.
  • Attend disciplinary meetings and investigations, upholding company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations, staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Perform other assigned duties, contributing to the overall success of the Merit Brass Company.

Requirements:

  • High School, GED, or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
  • At least two years of HR management experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred, demonstrating expertise in HR principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees and management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Working knowledge of HR compliance, with the ability to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of insurance coordination, with the ability to manage benefits and related programs.
