Position Overview

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will oversee the efficient and precise execution of HR operational functions across various HR areas, including:

  • Employee Recognition Programs
  • Operational Support
  • Training and Development

The ideal candidate will significantly contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and internal communications at JACK Cleveland Casino.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Engagement:

  • Support and implement service initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Public Relations team to design and produce the weekly employee communication newsletter
  • Develop property communications for employee engagement, announcements, and various activities as required
  • Facilitate employee community involvement through initiatives
  • Organize engagement events such as holiday celebrations, feedback meetings with leadership, and team rallies
  • Assist with property engagement activities as necessary, including monthly and annual events
  • Manage projects, ensuring timelines are met with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Oversee the execution of the Employee Recognition Program
    • Service Milestones – Monthly Anniversaries
    • Employee Birthdays – Monthly
  • Maintain all current communication channels, including email, bulletin boards, and intranet

Recruitment & Operations:

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team for phone screenings, interview scheduling, and new hire orientation coordination
  • Assist with job fairs and employment mixers
  • Act as a backup for HRIS tasks as needed, including password resets and mobile app setups
  • Represent HR in weekly property operations meetings and document meeting notes
  • Support general office tasks such as filing and supply ordering

Training:

  • Provide backup support for the Training & Development Specialist during new hire orientation
  • Assist team members in navigating the Learning Management System (LMS) for required training

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a friendly, helpful demeanor
  • Respond calmly and rationally to employee conflicts
  • Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities
  • Exhibit a high level of integrity and adherence to HR policies
  • Respond quickly to changing demands
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with design tools
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources is required
  • Experience in hospitality, retail, or service industries is preferred
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage workload effectively
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
