Summary
Senior Civil Engineer / Environmental Engineer to support our work in the Boston, Massachusetts area. The Senior Engineer will provide environmental engineering, remediation, and construction services to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy, and other federal and state government clients.
10 years of Federal Engineering experience
US Army Corps of Engineers OR the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).
Federal, Remediation and construction
Responsibilities
● Designing, managing, and conducting environmental field investigations and remediation projects at hazardous waste sites, both in New England and nationwide.
● Supervising and supporting environmental and engineering projects and tasks, involving the characterization and remediation of impacted soil, sediment, and groundwater.
● Construction duties may include oversight of civil and environmental aspects related to environmental remediation projects or the construction of soil and groundwater treatment systems.
● Preparing technical proposals and cost estimates.
● Managing project schedules and budgets.
● Client interaction and the supervision of field crews.
● Data analysis and the interpretation of field and analytical data.
● Implementing data quality control processes.
● Reviewing and authoring technical reports.
Qualifications - Required
● The Senior Engineer position requires a minimum of a BS or BA degree in a field related to Environmental Studies or Construction such as Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geological Engineering.
● Minimum of 10+ years of experience executing the responsibilities and duties outlined above.
● Experience working on federal remediation projects and understanding of the USACE QC process (US Army Corp of Engineers Quality Control).
● Excellent writing skills and experience preparing construction work plans and working on proposals.
● Engineering design and onsite construction management
● Environmental assessments and investigations
● Soil/groundwater remediation experience such as complex excavation and offsite T&D, insitu remediation (ISCO, bioremediation, pump and treat, thermal treatment)
● Groundwater remedial system design
● Remedial system operation and maintenance
● Willingness to travel 25% if required.
● A PE (Professional Engineer) certification or ability to obtain one.
● Strong project management, organizational, cost tracking, technical writing, and oral communication skills.
● Knowledge of appropriate methodologies for groundwater, surface water, soil, and sediment sampling at CERCLA and RCRA sites.
● Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
● Competency with MS Office including MS Project.
● Demonstrated skills in the design and implementation of remediation/construction projects.
Qualifications - Preferred
● MS degree in a related field.
● PMP certification.
● Experience with Primavera.
