RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Create a cost-based system to communicate to the business their share of IT related costs and/or create a chargeback system within the organization to fund new IT initiatives.
  • Help with business process flow analysis and implementation of the Oracle Procurement module
  • Lead the global strategic IT procurement team to ensure procurement is performed in a timely and cost-efficient manner through the implementation of an annual strategic business plan, effective project/program planning, execution and use of change control practices
  • Provides thought leadership to both the IT function and IT Procurement team to ensure that all IT procurement programs are aligned with the CIO’s objectives and in compliance with company policies
  • Collaborates with the IT Leadership Team in establishing Global IT requirements definition, vendor selection, and completion of the business case. Role works closely with IT management to issue RFP’s and evaluate alternative solutions where applicable
  • Demonstrated competence within Procurement and IT functional management
  • Sets standards and metrics, establishes practices and procedures, oversees and directs performance of IT Procurement group, measures client satisfaction, promoting standardized processes and continuous improvement to achieve synergies, efficiency, and greater effectiveness
  • Hands-on knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and/or category management processes
  • Manages monthly, quarterly and annual IT supplier management activities for the corporation
  • Provides effective strategic supplier management of the key IT suppliers identified by the CIO
  • Leads the identification of cost savings, opportunity assessments and delivers fact based value driven sourcing decisions to IT
  • Responsible to IT management in the selection and qualification of IT suppliers
  • Performs as key contributing member of Procurement Leadership Team
  • Mitigates risk and exposures through audit and control processes, thoughtful analyses and consideration of impacts and planning
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), both quantitative and qualitative, and adjusts as necessary, to promote greater customer service, efficiency, and operational excellence
  • Collaborates and partners with IT leadership team to ensure IT Procurement programs, policies, and procedures are appropriate and aligned with strategic priorities
  • May undertake special projects as required


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business or IT required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement 5 – 8 years at the management level
  • Has a strong understanding of international business and cultural differences and is able to manage effectively across multiple cultures
  • Has expert knowledge of strategic sourcing, negotiation principles, procurement fundamentals, principles, theories and processes, and management reporting
  • Possesses an advanced level of collaboration influencing and consulting skills at all levels of the organization with the ability to effect strategic direction at the executive level
  • Proven project management expertise and analytical skills
  • Experience in a managerial global procurement role demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills and a track record of success working in a team-based environment
  • Knowledge of models and trends in the IT supply markets
  • Possesses a client focused approach as demonstrated by a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work assignments and new learning
  • Has strong decision-making abilities and is able to effectively able to balance and integrate his/her business intuition with a fact-based approach
  • Has extensive experience with effectively motivating, managing, leading, influencing and developing staff
  • Demonstrated success of being able to work in a matrix environment and values the importance of teamwork. Demonstrated ability to meet goals and deadlines
  • Experience working in a large organization required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and expertise in, various IT and Procurement concepts, practices, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Can identify and evaluate opportunities to appropriately in-source, out-source, or co-source activities, emphasizing value-added activities and minimizing non-value-added activities
  • Possesses, and provides, thought leadership, technical expertise and consulting support to key stakeholders, organizational leaders, and their staff on the IT supply base, category management and functional expertise
  • Ability to clearly articulate point of view orally and in writing; ability to grasp quickly business objectives and strategies and how service offerings support the attainment of those objectives
  • High level of proficiency in business computer applications including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • High level of flexibility in working style and schedule
  • Periodic travel

  • Experience working in a Fortune 500 company preferred
