Working in an urgent care environment is as exhilarating as running a million miles an hour with sand between your paws. PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Practice Manager to our team. Our brand-new clinic will be opening in October 2024

At PetMedic, you can help shape the exciting new world of veterinary urgent care. Our fast-paced environment means you’ll do something different every day, but with more regularity and stability than an emergency setting. It’s like hitting the sweet spot with a tail-thumping belly rub that never ends – and that’s just the beginning. As part of our team, you’ll work with the latest technology, stay ahead using educational training, and partner with experienced doctors to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Clinic Management – 75%

  • Nurture a clinic environment that builds morale and follows the values of Love, Respect and Fun
  • Work together as a team with Managing Doctor and Regional Operations Director to promote and develop collaborative patient care, client service, and financial/medical goals
  • Hire staff with appropriate references. Manage salary reviews, and staff performance
  • Coach and train staff, while providing a career path
  • Schedule for maximum coverage and meeting payroll targets
  • Resolve client non-medical complaints
  • Administrative duties such as payroll submission, accounts payable/receivable and work with management to understand financial statements and other financial data to find ways to improve revenues, reduce COGS/COS and increase EBITDA
  • Monitor the cost of purchasing so the practice operations within budget. Update inventory and costs as shipments are received
  • Ensure facilities are operational, working with facilities manager as needed
  • Available during off-hours and by phone to assist with problem-solving. Flexible with personal schedule to allow for rotating nights/weekends as needed

Referral Management – 25%

  • Build relationships with referring veterinarians by scheduling regular meetings with the Medical Director. You should be on the road, in the local area, 1-2 days a week
  • Plan and conduct regular CE meetings with referring hospitals
  • Collaborate with PetMedic marketing team to create collateral for referring hospitals
  • Work to ensure all rDVM communications are timely and accurate
  • Attend local pet community events and build relationships with local businesses

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a supervisor in a veterinary facility required
  • Must be friendly, outgoing, “people-oriented”
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
  • Telephone and computer skills
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks at once, and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of staffing in a professional manner
  • Financial, Inventory/COGS and COS management
  • Background in managing service-oriented operations
  • Ability to take information obtained from clients, staff and other sources, discern that which is credible and assess the clinic and its operation objectively
