Position Summary:
The Director of Project Management will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of project management methodologies, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will develop and implement the strategic direction for the Project Management Office (PMO). You will provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of project managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
You will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, goals, and deliverables, you will ensure that project management methodologies, standards, and processes are followed.
Effective resource management will be key, as you allocate and manage resources to meet project demands. You will identify resource gaps and implement strategies to address them, optimizing the utilization of project management tools and software.
As the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors, you will communicate project status, risks, and issues in a timely and transparent manner. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders will be essential.
Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and team performance, you will prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management. Conducting post-project evaluations will help identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
PMP or other relevant project management certification is required.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Proficiency in project management software and tools ie. MS Project
