Job Summary:
The Estimator position is responsible for reviewing data in order to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists. This position requires an individual to have a detailed quality oriented mind in order to coordinate with contractors / customers, ultimately meeting the company’s production and quality goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position could have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: (Include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be applied)
- Compute cost factors, margins, and prepare estimates used for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling
- Identify material cost trends to assist in cost reduction and process improvement
- Ability to stay up to date with Market and competitor trends resulting in more accurate pricing
- Coordinate with contractors/customers regarding estimates and scope of work
- Ability to come in early or work late depending on the customer's needs.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently while also demonstrating a willingness to work within a team environment
- Willingness to cross train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
- Perform all work in a safe manner
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Computer literate
- Ability to meet deadlines
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
- Prolonged periods of typing reaching bending, twisting and standing
- Environment conducive to office setting
- Must be able to perform the essential job duties with or without accommodation.
Job Details:
- Work location is in person.
- Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
- Work Days - Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
