Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Management:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices and documentation to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Provide guidance to management on compliance-related issues and best practices.
  • Stay current with changes in employment laws and regulations and ensure timely implementation of necessary updates.
  • 401(k) administration and audit responsibility


Leave of Absence Administration:

  • Administer all aspects of employee leave of absence processes, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and other statutory leaves.
  • Coordinate with employees, managers, and third-party administrators to ensure timely and accurate processing of leave requests.
  • Maintain detailed records of leave requests, approvals, and returns to work.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding leave policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to leave administration.


Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and managers on compliance, leave of absence policies and manager specific focus points.
  • Ensure employees are informed about their rights and responsibilities regarding leaves of absence.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and awareness within the organization.


HR Operations:

  • Support HR operations and initiatives, including assistance with performance management, recruitment, and employee onboarding.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Assist with other HR projects and duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on compliance and leave of absence administration.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with leave management systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Professional certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
