The Systems Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the systems, handling security issues, and coordinating technology projects. Responsible for installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and systems management tools. Systems engineer is responsible for maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience working in IT Operations with increased responsibilities, with at least 3 of those years at an Administrator’s level.
  • Excellent and demonstrable understanding of computer systems, storage, backup, network and system administration, firewalls and scripting.
  • Knowledge of VMware and Virtualization.
  • Knowledge of Windows Systems.
  • Knowledge of Switches and Routers.
  • Understanding of network protocols, architecture, and systems integration.
  • Understanding of methodologies and best practices that are commonly used in the information security industry.



Functions:

  • Ensures smooth delivery and operation of servers, storage, backup, networking, and telecommunications infrastructure by monitoring system performance and proactively addressing issues, both on-prem and in cloud-hosted resources
  • Responsible for group policy administration, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, Exchange O365MFA, IT security and Azure administration
  • Ensures the day to day activities related to Information Technology Client Services and Network Services meet departmental needs.
  • Maintain the Technology Recovery Plan (TRP) documents including the required training, testing, and practice drill. Plan, develop, and implement a continuity plan including disaster management, business resumption, technology recovery priority planning. Create detailed system designs, including hardware and software specifications, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Ensure all system interfaces are well-defined and compatible, facilitating smooth communication between subsystems. Monitor and maintain the system throughout its operational life, including performing updates and upgrades as necessary.
