Job Title: Senior Control Engineer

Under general direction from the Department of Water Resources, the Project Operations Center Engineering (POCE) Unit Senior Control Engineer (Supervisor) manages a team of Electrical and Associate Control Engineers to conduct complex engineering studies and provide real-time support to the SWP Project Operations Center (POC) and associated systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of engineers to conduct engineering studies and provide real-time support to the SWP Project Operations Center (POC) and associated systems.
  • Represent the Utility Power Systems Services (UPSS) Branch on cyber security compliance and coordinate with other entities such as California Independent Systems Operator (CAISO).
  • Act as Designated Subject Matter Expert on North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards to meet Bulk Electric Systems Reliability Compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements:
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Background check prior to appointment and every seven years thereafter.
