Location: Houston, Texas (Hybrid Schedule: 9/80)

Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for full-time conversion)


Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated System Analyst III to be responsible for delivering field network services. The successful candidate will work closely with various business units to ensure the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of end-to-end network services, focusing on critical business operations such as ICS, Automation, and Drilling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Prioritize the protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers, and communities.
  • Field and Enterprise Network Support: Collaborate with field and enterprise network teams to maintain secure, performant, and reliable network services for critical business operations.
  • Business Unit Engagement: Actively engage with business units to ensure project deadlines and objectives are clearly understood and met.
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Assist with all phases of the field network project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, budgeting, execution, procurement, documentation, closing, and continuous improvement.
  • Asset and Inventory Management: Coordinate the management of field network infrastructure assets and inventory.
  • Field Network Optimization: Set and achieve goals focused on optimizing field network operations, emphasizing people, processes, and technology.
  • Incident Management: Utilize IT Service Management tools to ensure that incidents and requests are resolved promptly, meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • On-Call Support: Provide 24/7 availability while on-call, including off-hours support via cell phone and weekend on-call duties.
  • Work Ethic: Exhibit a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in all tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to apply academic technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
  • Understanding of emerging technology concepts and strategies.
  • Strong decision-making skills, using available information to solve problems effectively.
  • Knowledge of scope and time management principles, with the ability to apply them to simple projects and contribute to assigned project work.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English) and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, vendors, and service providers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in information technology and/or telecommunications will be considered.
  • Experience in designing, supporting, deploying, or managing network infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with RF communications, telecommunications facilities design, construction, and startup/commissioning processes.
  • Experience in structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure, including design, installation best practices, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologies.
  • Experience in process improvement and automating repetitive workflows with software tools.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving, setting strategic direction, and executing tasks effectively.
  • Experience working with on-site construction teams and managing relationships with general contractors and vendors.
